The 22nd Session of the ECP took place live in Oulu, Finland, 15 – 17 August 2025.

The session convened approximately 60 distinguished cultural personalities from 24 countries. The central theme of the conference, “Cultural Climate Change in Europe,” mirrored Oulu’s designation as the European Capital of Culture 2026. Throughout the three days, members deliberated on critical issues such as the multifaceted consequences of climate change for the arts and culture, the potential role of culture in mitigating this global crisis, and how profoundly the ongoing conflicts, particularly the Russian war against Ukraine and the Israel – Hamas war, impact artistic expression and cultural life in Europe and its wider neighbourhood.
