Robert Pyrah (London and Oxford) is a historian of identity politics in the post-Habsburg space, 20th Century – present, with special interest in the uses and abuses of cultural memory, minority and hybrid identities, and the positive civilizational aspects of  supranational structures. Publications include The Burgtheater and Austrian Identity (Oxford, 2007), co-edited volume Re-Contextualising East Central European History (Oxford, 2010) plus numerous articles and essays. He has also worked for many years consulting for businesses and is a Research Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford.
